Volunteers
Volunteers are the grass roots of the YMCA's identity as an
association of people motivated by a community service ethic.
Original
founder George Williams was a volunteer, and today, volunteers
continue to play a substantial role at The Family YMCA:
- Volunteers help teach the values of caring, honesty, respect
and
responsibility.
- Volunteers give back to the community as
mentors, coaches, skilled instructors, assistants and partners.
- Volunteers share their strengths, talent, ideas and time.
- Volunteers contribute a needed service.
In 2006, 367 volunteers donated 7,500 hours
of
their time to The Family YMCA!
We have volunteer opportunities in child care, member
services,
coaching, program instruction, facility maintenance, and in the climbing
wall. Our special events and annual campaigns also need volunteers.
To volunteer, please call 662-3100.
