FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

AEROBIC CLASSES


EXERCISE LITE-A kinder, gentler floor aerobic workout. Exercise Lite is appropriate for older adults, beginning exercise participants and pre/post-natal women who would like to include a low-intensity, low-impact workout in their fitness plans. Each class include an aerobic conditioning and stretching segment. Music for this class may include big band, classical, swing, country and oldie fut goodies.

JUST STEP-A 45-minute step class designed to provide a quick cardiovascular workout ending with a stretch.

TRADITIONAL AEROBICS-Multi-level floor aerobic classes are designed to meet the needs of different levels of fitness participants; low and high intensity options are shown during class to encourage class participants to work at their own pace.

STEP AEROBICS-An intermediate level class designed to provide a cardiovascular workout; includes a short conditioning segment.

CARDIO KICKBOXING-
A vigorous total body workout that incorporates punches and kicks. 



STRENGTH TRAINING CLASSES

STRENGTH/CONDITIONING-For all levels; focuses on improving muscular strength and endurance.

MIND/BODY CLASSES
PILATES MAT*-A combination of core-strengthening exercises to strengthen back and abdominal muscles and increase flexibility through the use of controlled movements.

YOGA*-A mind-body workout designed to improve health, athletic performance and mental focus in people of all ages and fitness levels. This class is dedicated to bringing the practice of yoga to all populations in a safe, user-friendly, fitness format.

*There is a limit of 15 participants in the yoga and Pilates classes; participation is based on a first-come, first serve basis. Check in for this class begins 15 minutes prior to the start of the class, until full, or class begins. You must be one of the first 15 to sign in at the front desk, in person, to ensure a space in the class. You may not sign in or hold a place for another person. Due to a small number of qualified yoga and Pilates instructors, these classes may occasionally be taught as a conditioning/flexibility class if a yoga/Pilates instructor is not available to sub when needed.

OLDER ADULT CLASSES

SilverSneakers® I-Muscular Strength and Range of Motion-Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength and range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
