Y programs give people of all ages the chance to learn new skills, try hard and succeed, and connect with community. We believe these experiences build character and help us all grow in spirit, mind and body. And we believe everyone should have these opportunities.
In 2011, our 501c3 charitable organization provided more than $75,000 in financial assistance to 148 people in 125 families. This support went to families who needed after school and summer camp care in order to work or go to school, and it granted children and adults access to our wellness programs. Donations also supported our critical objective of expanding programs to the teen population in Los Alamos and Española.
Within the Y’s $2.33 million budget for 2012, we are dependent on a goal of $125,000 of annual support to ensure that our programs can meet these critical needs. We call it our Strong Kids Campaign.
